Training Camp of Entrepreneurship Fengtai: Sales Approaches of Startups

On the afternoon of August 27, Sales Approaches of Startups, the first course of the training camp of the Entrepreneurship Fengtai, was held at the China-US Foundry Club roadshow hall of the Pomegranate Center.

The event was hosted by Fengtai Veterans Affairs Bureau of Fengtai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and co-organized by Fengtai Veterans Service Center, Fengtai Veterans Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, Pomegranate Center, Beijing Stanford Technology Incubator Co., Ltd., and Beijing Yilingyi Technology Incubator Co., Ltd.

At the first course, Mr. Huang Haijun, a brand marketing expert and a special MBA lecturer of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was invited to deliver a presentation

on the theme of Sales Approaches of Startups to help entrepreneurs understand how to form a sales team and how to select customers.

Mr. Huang Haijun made the presentation from three aspects: team, customer and sales operation management. In terms of team building, Mr. Huang Haijun explained that the CEO should be involved in the sales, but not lead the sales himself. It is recommended that the minimum sales team for start-ups would be 6 individuals. The selection criteria for the seed players of the sales team are mainly based on 6 principles: the target is not entirely based on money; the team members should agree with the business direction, the product, and the company culture, and have good growth potential. And the last but not the least, the right one is the best.

In terms of customer selection, Huang Haijun gave suggestions from three aspects: the three principles of customers in the early stage of entrepreneurship, the four key points and how to find the "win-win lever". He said that customers with high decision-making efficiency, customers actively embracing innovation and customers willing to accompany growth were good choices.

In terms of sales operation management, Mr. Huang Haijun explained from the aspects of sales funnel, customer life cycle management, human resources, financial and business affairs. He reminded the entrepreneurs that in the early stage of entrepreneurship, they might not want to be too obsessed with the perfect sales scientific system, but to be quick and accurate, support the sales with the sales, and accumulate precipitation and grow in the sales.

In the classroom, the entrepreneurs on site listened attentively, interacted frequently, and raised many questions. Huang Haijun gave detailed answers, and offered practical solutions and opinions. The first course ended successfully in a lively and harmonious atmosphere.

The Pomegranate center will continue to lead the Entrepreneurship Fengtai, the entrepreneurship training camp courses, invite relevant tutors and investors to explain and coach the veterans from the dimensions of business model, equity incentive, brand marketing and financing roadshow, so as to actively create a good atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship, improve the anti-risk ability of entrepreneurial enterprises, and help the enterprises develop steadily.
