Following the continuous development of technology, more and more seemingly impossible intelligent life experiences are changing people’s living habit, and the era of intelligent technology has silently come to us. From intelligent wearable devices, unmanned driving, intelligent medical service, intelligent home appliances, to AR/VR, intelligent technology industry is leading an epoch-making technology reformation. In 2016, the fight of Google artificial intelligence AlphaGo and South Korean professional weiqi player Lee Sedol aroused heated discussion. At last AlphaGo won the game with 4:1 score. Some professional industrial experts foresee that the next “unicorn” will appear in the intelligent technology field.
In order to answer the call for national entrepreneurship strategy, stimulate the vitality of technological innovation, and encourage regional startup atmosphere, in the afternoon of August 30, the first “Zoom Tech Cup” Intelligent Technology Global Innovation Competition & 2016 Fengtai Technology Innovation Competition (Entry Competition for Beijing Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition) was held in the talk show hall of the cross-border co-working space. The competition was instructed by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Beijing Entrepreneurship Incubation Association, Beijing Co-working Space Alliance, hosted by Fengtai District Science & Technology Commission and Fengtai District Intellectual Property Bureau, and organized by the Zoom Tech incubator. It was attended by nearly 100 persons including Li Xiuying – Vice Chairman of Fengtai CPPC, Yan Fang – Vice Secretary-general of Beijing Entrepreneurship Incubation Association, Zhu Jingning – Director of Fengtai Science & Technology Commission, and Meng Dan – Vice Director of Fengtai Science & Technology Commission, as well as many intelligent technology experts, famous investors, media representatives, and starters.
Ever since the competition was unveiled at the end of July, it has mainly focused on intelligent technology field. After preliminaries and semi-finals, 13 high-end projects from the sectors of intelligent hardware device, intelligent environment protection, intelligent medical service, and big data exploration finally entered the final. They will fight for awards and bonus including RMB 5 million fund, office space bonus and for-free US travel.
In the talk show course, Tan Jie and Ma Zengliang -- researchers from Automation Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Ling – Director of Systematic Technology Research Institute of Beijing National Railway Research & Design Institute of Signal & Communication Ltd. Liu Wanlan – CEO of Business Review, Meng Fan – founder of Heidie Capital evaluated the competing projects from the aspects of investment value, technology value, social value, corporate strategy, and marketing strategy. They also took the onsite interaction and open reply of players into consideration when marking those projects. Finally COOLHEAR inside, CEIN Biotechnology, Bright Beacon, Israel Leviticus Cardio, Santai Environment, and personalized precise treatment solution for chronic pain respectively won first-class, second-class, and third-class awards. Top 10 winners entered Beijing Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition.
It’s worthy of notice that 4 out of 13 competing projects are high-tech projects from Israel. It’s publicly known that Israel is a country of innovators. Its culture of innovation in high technology field is especially astonishing. The competition was supported by famous Israel Trenlines, which recommended 4 projects to attend the competition. In addition, a sub-competition was set in Tel Aviv, Israel. After the second half talk show began, D. Todd Dollinger, President of Trendlines made an online lecture to the competition. Then the online talk show of the four Israel projects won the recognition of onsite appraisers. It is not accidental for the competition to get powerful support of the famous international incubator. As early as July 8, Zoom Tech had contacted Trendlines for holding a cross-border innovation investment conference, in order to build a perfect dialogue between overseas high-level technology and domestic capital.
The original intention for Zoom Tech hosting the competition in the talk show hall of Sino-Israel cross-border co-working space and inviting Israel intelligent projects to join the competition is in the hope of introducing Israel high technologies into China, let Chinese enterprises participate in and share Israel technological innovation results, build a first-class and internationalized cross-border resource integration platform and globalized entrepreneurship ecological system.
According to the introduction of relevant responsible person of Zoom Tech, the Sino-Israel cross-border co-working space has completed preparation and will be unveiled in September. The total floor area of the Phase I project is about 2,000 sqm. It includes public hall, meeting room, talk show hall, public technology platform, and exhibition hall, with a total area of 500 sqm. The area of the incubator is 300m; that of the accelerator is 1,200m. They will mainly provide founding, incubation, and acceleration service for high-tech enterprises in the sectors of intelligent technology, intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent medical service. Enterprises that enter the incubator can not only enjoy first-class office environment such as Imax talk show hall, hardware exhibition booth, and co-shared café, but also make multi-dimensional link with different capital through entrepreneurship training and project talk show, so as to achieve the rise of the enterprise.
